Volunteer recruitment for Feb 28, 2024 Project WET water festival

 Zakkai, the new program coordinator at Project WET based here in Tucson, is looking for volunteers for the upcoming TUSD Project WET Water Festival on February 28th, at Kennedy park.  It will be a great learning opportunity, as well as a fun way to engage with the community on the topic of water conservation.  Lunch and snacks will also be provided for all volunteers, both at the training (02/21) as well as the festival (02/28).

Please contact Zakkai Markowitz <zakkaim@arizona.edu>  to volunteer and help make this event a massive success!

Jim Click Millions for Tucson Raffle Winners

As you know the Jim Click Millions for Tucson Raffle took place on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Here are the names of the people who won.

The winners from this year’s Jim Click Millions for Tucson Raffle are:

  • Sylvia Bencomo of Green Valley, won the third prize of $5,000 (ticket sold by Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers of Green Valley);
  • Karyn Zoldan of Tucson won the second prize of two plane tickets (ticket sold by Cherished Tails);
  • Baruch Cohon of Tucson will receive a 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor (with an MSRP of $90,925) (ticket sold by Congregation Beit Simcha).

Congratulations to the winners!

 Even though none of our Partners for Equitable Science Instruction (PESI) supporters won the big Jim Click prizes this year, PESI is still the ultimate winner. Through the Jim Click Millions for Tucson Raffle, PESI raised awareness about the importance of science education and funds needed to sustain PESI’s goals of continuing to provide support and professional development in science for Tucson area teachers and schools.  Thanks to all of you who purchased and/or helped sell tickets this year. Your generous support is always appreciated.
