As our transition from crisis teaching to distance learning comes to fruition, it is more critical than ever to organize virtual instruction with a clear set of learning intentions, success criteria, and instructional guidelines. Utilizing what educators everywhere have learned over the course of pandemic teaching, we can now improve our overall strategy to adapt to any and every environment and promote effective distance learning.  There is a fee to register for this course.

Back to School Science Resources from DFFM

Cori Dolan from the Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) sends teachers “Back to School” best wishes with another great science resource!  It is the Tree People organization based in California.  They post a lot of learn at home lesson plans in the following different science categories:

  • Trees
  • Water
  • Soil
  • Earth Week
  • Community Forests
  • Recycling
  • Plants

The content looks good for classroom, informal education, or that after-school science club you said you’d organize.  Thanks Cori and good luck to everyone as you start the new school year.
