PESI Updates July 2024

Hello PESI Supporters,
The heat of summer is upon us!  Partners for Equitable Science Instruction (PESI) hopes you are keeping cool and getting the much needed R&R you deserve.  Supporters and volunteers are invited to join in the following PESI events.
The TUSD Science Resource Center has already received some of the newly adopted science materials.  Help is needed to inventory and organize the materials into boxes & bins for the kits that get delivered to TUSD schools.  You can email Becky C. ( rbcavazos@comcast.net )  or Peggy H. ( pegadoh@gmail.com )  directly, to check the work schedule and let them know when you are available. This is a great opportunity to help out and get a peek at the new middle school science materials too.
The next PESI meeting is scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at
LOCALE Neighborhood Italian Restaurant, 60 North Alvernon, Tucson, Arizona  85711 (520) 398.7553.
Your RSVP to pesitucson@gmail.com is requested so we can update our reservation list.  Please consider joining us. We are looking for more PESI supporters to get actively involved.  This meeting is a great time & place to hear what PESI is planning and a perfect opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas of how PESI can support you during the upcoming school year.

Hope to see YOU on Saturday, July 27th!

UA Science Opportunity

Hello Fellow Science Educators,

At this moment, the University of Arizona School of Mining and Mineral Resources Education Outreach Program is in the final stages of putting the finishing touches on an awesome professional development opportunity for Arizona teachers this summer. From June 24-27, 2024, the School will be hosting a minerals academy to give teachers firsthand experience integrating mining and minerals-related content into their intended curriculum using resources from around the state.
